Datuk Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid HamidiDatuk Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid HamidiKUALA LUMPUR: Menteri Dalam Negeri Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi hari ini menegaskan tiada unsur penyelewengan atau rasuah dalam kes kehilangan aset Polis Diraja Malaysia (PDRM) termasuk senjata api.

Sebaliknya kata beliau, kes berpunca daripada kecuaian dan kelemahan segelintir pegawai serta anggota ketika menjalankan tugas selain kelemahan prosedur operasi standard (SOP). 

"Saya telah maklum kepada Ketua Polis Negara (Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar), kita hendak perkemas semula SOP terhadap penjagaan senjata api untuk elak sebarang kecuaian selepas ini. Saya mahu selepas ini apabila laporan audit negara dikeluarkan tiada lagi kehilangan aset PDRM dilaporkan," katanya.

Beliau berkata demikian kepada pemberita sebagai mengulas Laporan Ketua Audit Negara 2012 yang antara lain menyatakan PDRM kehilangan 309 aset bernilai RM1.33 juta dalam tempoh tiga tahun dari 2010 hingga 2012. Aset terbabit termasuk 44 senjata api, gari (156 unit) dan kenderaan (29 unit).

Mengulas lanjut, Ahmad Zahid berkata tindakan tatatertib dan surcaj akan dikenakan kepada pegawai dan anggota yang didapati bersalah terhadap kehilangan senjata api di bawah selian mereka.

Kehilangan senjata api ketika menjalankan tugas sama sekali tidak boleh diterima kerana PDRM badan yang berintegriti dan disanjung tinggi oleh masyarakat, katanya.

Beliau sebelum itu melancarkan al-Quran Tafsir Ar-Rahman di ibu pejabat Percetakan Nasional Malaysia Berhad di sini.
Turut hadir ialah Timbalannya Datuk Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar dan Ketua Setiausaha kementerian itu Datuk Abd Rahim Mohd Radzi.
