PUTRAJAYA, 17 JULY, 2011: Federal Territories and Urban Wellbeing Deputy Minister Datuk M. Saravanan said the 2011 Putrajaya Flower and Garden  festival (Floria) recorded 847,430 visitors as of yesterday, surpassing its 800,000 target.

"The main factor for the resounding success of the festival was the highly attractive concept itself and the quality of its presentation," said Saravanan.

"However, the 2011 Floria Putrajaya would not have been such a success without the promotions and media publicity as well as the various activities for the visitors," he said during the closing of the festival here today.

Also present was Putrajaya Corporation president Tan Sri Samsudin Osman.

A total of 61 prizes were awarded during the closing ceremony today and the  2011 Floria Garden Prime Award was won by the Federal Territories and Urban Wellbeing Ministry.

Next year the event will be held from June 30 till July 8 and will be themed on the Bougainvillea flower.
