Naza TTDI To Invest Rm20 Mln In KL Metropolis Park

KUALA LUMPUR -- Naza TTDI Sdn Bhd (Naza) will invest RM20 million to manage the 2.023-hectare KL Metropolis Park for 15 years, under a corporate social responsibility (CSR) adoption programme.

The CSR programme entailed a collaboration between Naza and Kuala Lumpur (KL) City Hall, as part of the government's Greener KL programme under the Greater KL/Klang Valley initiative.

Speaking to reporters after the groundbreaking ceremony for the KL Metropolis Park today, Naza TTDI Deputy Executive Chairman and Group Managing Director SM Faliq SM Nasimuddin said the park was Naza TTDI's proactive support for the Greener KL initiative.

"This urban park, expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2018, will be the green lung of KL Metropolis," he said, adding that the park would also provide various facilities catering to public health, environment and the community, among others.

The park is the first component of the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre and part of the KL Metropolis mega project which was launched in 2011.

KL Metropolis is divided into eight precincts namely Met 1, Met 2, Met 3, Met 5, Met 6, Met 7, Met 8 and Met 9.

SM Faliq said the company would plant about 500 trees and 10 different species of flowering plants in the park sprawled over 10,800 hectares.

Meanwhile, commenting on the progress of MET 1, which has a gross development value of RM1 billion and launched early this year, SM Faliq said the response for residential units had been encouraging.

"We are expecting up to 90 per cent of the 616 units to be taken up by year-end.

"We are also talking to investors for the construction of office towers and we hope to conclude the deal by this year," he said.
