PETALING JAYA: Malaysia Airlines (MAS) is said to have released a revised organization chart to its employees yesterday and from the middle of next week, all division heads will be known as directors.

This could be the third or fourth revision to the organization chart over the past one year. The earlier ones had 10 to 11 divisions which were later reduced to seven, and the latest has eight.

They are commercial, operations, corporate services, customer services, finance, human resources, MAS Aerospace Engineering and group CEO's office. MAS Aerospace is a subsidiary but is recognized as a division whilst the other subsidiaries Firefly, MAS Wings and MAS Kargo are parked under the CEO's office.

Unlike the last chart, the post of deputy CEO has been removed after the departure of Mohammed Rasdhan Yusof a few months ago.

Mohd Sukri Husin, who has been in finance for a long time, will oversee the finance division. The new director of operations named in the chart is Capt Izham Ismail, who replaced Capt Azharuddin Osman. Azharuddin has been appointed adviser to the group CEO, Ahmad Jauhari Yahya. Flight operations fall under the purview of Capt Kamarudin Kamilin, while inflight services are headed by Hayati Ali.

The director of commercial is headed by Hugh Dunleavy.

Ahmad Jauhari, in an e-mail to his team, said the revised structure spelt out areas of responsibility and accountability in implementing the business plan's initiatives.

As part of the realignment, customer experience division has been realigned to customer services division and is headed by Datuk Mohd Salleh Tabrani.
