GEORGE TOWN, 27 SEPTEMBER, 2011: Penang Barisan Nasional (BN) Youth today lodged a report with the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission to urge the comission to investigate alleged irregularities involving the Penang International Convention Centre (sPICE) project.
Its chairman Oh Tong Keong said the people of Penang had the right to know if the awarding of the project was above board.
"If it is true the agreement for the project favours the developer more than the state, it should be stopped so that there is no abuse of taxpayers money," he told reporters after filing the report at the MACC office here.
He added that Penang BN Youth would be going on a signature drive to oppose the project.
Costing some RM300 million, the centre is being built in Relau near here.
