KUALA LUMPUR: Peniaga permaidani kontroversi Deepak Jaikishan mendakwa dirinya “tidak berada dalam keadaan baik” untuk disoal siasat berkenaan dakwaanya minggu lepas dan meminta untuk ditangguhkan kata Suruhanjaya Pencegahan Rasuah Malaysia (SPRM).

SPRM mengeluarkan kenyataan semalam sehari selepas Deepak mengatakan beliau diberitahu pada Jumaat untuk datang pada tarikh lain dengan dokumen tentang dakwaannya berkenaan dengan pertuduhan di sebalik akuan bersumpah kedua penyiasat peribadi  P Balasubramaniam pada 2008.

Akuan bersumpah kedua adalah berkenaan dengan kes pembunuhan berprofil tinggi warga Mongolia Altantuya Shariibuu pada tahun 2006.

“Deepak telah disambut oleh seorang pegawai SPRM (semalam) dan beliau kemudiannya memberitahu pegawai tersebut bahawa beliau terpaksa hadir di pejabat SPRM kerana telah membuat perjanjian dengan wartawan.

“Ketika ditanya sama ada beliau bersedia untuk memberi keterangan atau tidak, Deepak memberitahu pegawai tersebut bahawa beliau “not in the state of mind” untuk memberi keterangan dan meminta untuk memberi keterangan pada 22 Januari 2013, 5:00 petang,” kata Timbalan Ketua Komisioner, Datuk Mohd Shukri dalam satu kenyataan.

Deepak memberitahu kepada The Malaysian Insider Jumaat lalu akan menyerahkan kesemua bukti secara bertulis kepada SPRM selepas membuat pengakuan baru-baru ini dirinya membantu memastikan Balasubramaniam menarik kembali akuan bersumpah pertama dalam perkara tersebut, termasuk mencari dua orang peguam untuk menderaf kenyataan tersebut.

Majlis Peguam sedang menyiasat identiti peguam dan kemungkinan kesalahan semasa menderaf akuan bersumpah kedua Balasubramaniam tentang pembunuhan Altantuya.

Misteri identiti peguam tersebut timbul sejak SD kedua oleh Bala, ia bertarikh sehari selepas yang pertama pada 3 Julai 2008 melibatkan pembunuhan Altantunya hingga menyebabkan dua anggota elit komando polis telah didakwa dan menghadapi hukuman mati.

Peguam Balasubramaniam Americk Singh Sidhu sebelum ini mengatakan M Arulampalam memainkan peranan dalam menderaf akuan bersumpah kedua penyiasat itu melibatkan Deepak, yang juga berada di tengah-tengah kontroversi dua akuan bersumpah Balasubramaniam.

Beliau juga telah mendedahkan penglibatan seorang “Tan Sri” dalam SD tersebut dan kemudiaannya peguam senior Datuk Zaid Ibrahim juga membuat kenyataan susulan bahawa individu tersebut memegang kedudukan dalam panel Suruhanjaya SPRM.

Khamis lalu, Perdana Menteri Datuk Seri Najib Razak menafikan sebarang pengelibatan dalam deraf akuan bersumpah kedua Balasubramaniam berkenaan pembunuhan Altantuya pada tahun 2006.

Beliau mengatakan pertuduhan Deepak adalah tidak benar dan mengatakannya bukan satu isu dambil mengatakan ahli perniagaan itu tidak berkredibiliti.
