Cats are pretty unpredictable animals and sometimes their actions are quite perplexing, case in point: a cat had appointed himself as the ‘midwife’ and ‘masseur’ for a pregnant goat preparing to give birth.

Operation Fancy Free, a cat rescue group located in West Virginia, USA, posted on their Facebook page last Thursday about one of their rescue cats, Pretty Boy, which had stayed with Copper the goat ever since she was confined to a stall in preparation for the births.

Together with the post was a video of Pretty Boy massaging and comforting Copper through her contractions in the birthing stall.

"Pretty Boy is now the new age goat midwife/masseur.

“Pretty Boy has been sleeping with, sitting on and massaging Copper since Copper was confined to a stall to prepare for her deliveries,” the Facebook post said.

On Sunday, the group posted an update on Copper’s condition and said that she had been having ‘false labour’ contractions and has not gone into ‘hard labour’ yet, and that Pretty Boy remained by the pregnant goat’s side.

After all the drama and constant companionship, Copper safely gave birth to two male and one female kid 11 hours ago at the time of writing.

Pretty Boy was not there to witness the births as the group took precautions during and after the birth to ensure that Pretty Boy doesn’t get hurt if Copper became overprotective and thinks that he was a threat.

But later on, the group uploaded a photo of Pretty Boy around Copper and the new kids.

Apparently, Copper doesn't mind the feline's presence. Well, when she's not out of sorts that is.
