The Bruneian hijabista fashion scene is also taking precedence after Malaysia, that its Modest Fashion Network (MFN) recently organised an inaugural exhibition for fashion designers of modest clothing, held in Empire Hotel & Country Club, Jerudong from March 10-12, 2017.
Officiated by the guest of honour Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Anak Hajah Siti Radhiah Binte Pengiran Maharaja Lela Sahibul Kahar Pengiran Anak Haji Md Yusof, the modest fashion soiree gathered 30 international and local modest fashion designers and brands.
The three-day fiesta featured brands such as House of Nur, Bait Al Hijaab, Bajoo, House of Zafeera, Naforrer, L’orient, among others.
“Understanding the massive potential of modest fashion industry in Brunei, this first Modest Fashion Network event is set to bring diversity in fashion and bridging the participants to the global platform,” said Puan Maszalina, founder of MFN..
A unique hijab styling session was also conducted by owner of Malaysian fashion house MODVIER, Sarah Shahnor, apart from an “unboxing” of Brunei’s Peek-a-Box by local social media influencer Nabeela Fadzil a.k.a @lipstickmyname.
In addition, a winner was crowned based on the #OOTDBrunei Search, which saw the winner bagging the grand prize of $1,000 (RM3,000) in cash.
As for the fashion brand search, Bait Al Hijaab won an exclusive sponsorship to showcase its fashion collection at Asia Islamic Fashion Week 2017 (AIFW 2017) runway in Kuala Lumpur this April, worth $15,000 (RM45,000), after being selected by our very own prominent designer Jovian Mandagie.
On its Instagram account, the winning fashion brand stated they are grateful and honoured to be chosen as winner of The Modest Fashion Network's brand search to participate in the upcoming AIFW 2017.
