Airport Baggage Handler Caught Stealing Bluetooth Speaker

Many travellers are concerned that something untoward would happen to their luggage after checking it in and unfortunately for one traveller, that worry came true.

On October 10, a luggage of a passenger of Jetstar Airways flight had the unfortunate luck of being pried open by an airport baggage handler, Abdullah Hayee Mayeh, 27, at the Phuket International Airport, Phuket Gazette reports.

Abdullah was caught red-handed as CCTV cameras showed him trying to open the passenger’s luggage while loading luggage onto the aircraft parked on the tarmac.

After the police showed the footage to him, Abdullah confessed to his crime and was arrested on October 12.

The Bluetooth speaker that he managed to steal has since been surrendered to the public service department of the airport to be returned to its rightful owner.

Abdullah has been charged for robbery and taken to Saku Police Station for processing.
