"For years we have asked Clare Rewcastle-Brown to support her allegations to validate her many accusations published in her news blog."

Datuk Seri Abdul Rahman Dahlan, the Minister in the Prime Minister's Department pointed out that much of Sarawak Reports on 1MDB had been based solely on unnamed sources as well.

"The information is needed to conduct a thorough investigation into all the allegations against 1MDB, but Rewcastle-Brown insists on not disclosing the source," Rahman Dahlan said.

"Suddenly, she named Ambiga as a source after coming under pressure during a court session," he questioned.

The Barisan Nasional Strategic Communications Director gave his opinion that there will be no proof forthcoming.

“Ustaz Hadi took the action because such allegations affect his reputation as a leader, so I dismiss any possibility that Ambiga will reveal any evidence or her sources.” Abdul Rahman said that Ambiga will definitely not have anything to expose.

Casting doubt on all the past reports published by Sarawak Report over the 1MDB issue, Rahman Dahlan said it is clear the news blog does not base its reports on reliable facts.

“She quoted unnamed sources which are highly doubtful and then spins the stories in a way that it would get maximum attention by the public and damage the reputation of the government.

I think it is irresponsible journalism. Clare Brown was essentially a political operator for the opposition as simple as that," he concluded that he very much doubts if Ambiga will ever disclose any proof of her sources.

In a court filing dated October 11 in a defence and counter-claim statement which has since gone viral online, Rewcastle-Brown named Ambiga as the person who provided her with the bribery allegation claiming that her sources were reliable in the RM90 million that Najib allegedly gave PAS.

PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang had sued Sarawak Report’s Clare Rewcastle-Brown in London over the bribery claim in April this year.
