SEPANG: The remains of Mohd Ghafar Abu Bakar, Ng Shi Ing and a third victim whose family had requested for privacy, have arrived home this morning. They touched down at KLIA at 6.53am.
Mohd Ghafar and Ng's remains were later brought to the Bunga Raya Complex about 8.26am today. The aircraft, flight MH19, from Amsterdam, taxied the runway towards the complex about 8.30am.
Ghafar, Ng and the third victim were the second batch of MH17 who had been repatriated after the aircraft they were on was believed to have been shot down and crashed in Donetsk, eastern Ukraine.
Their caskets draped with the Jalur Gemilang was brought out from the belly of the aircraft about 8.35am.
Pallbearers decked in their full ceremonial uniform were at hand to receive and carry the caskets to the waiting hearses.
Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, Transport Minister Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai and several ministers were present at the ceremony to receive and honour the two MH17 victims.
The downed flight MH17 was en route to Kuala Lumpur from Amsterdam when it crashed, killing all 298 passengers.
