ISIS ‘Memorise The Quran In Ramadan’ Competition Prizes: First, Second, Third Place Wins A Slave Girl

Last year, the Islamic State declared Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi as their caliphate on 29 June, the first day of Ramadan.

In honour of the holy month this year, it has announced a competition to memorise certain chapters of the Quran, in a notice that offers great ‘rewards’ − slave girls.

As the month of Ramadan is the month where the Quran was revealed, it is recommended for Muslims to engage with it by reciting it, learning its meaning and memorising it.

Many Quran memorisation competitions are held globally during the blessed month, and the Islamic State is one not short of hosting one of their own.

On the advertisement posted at the Al-Barakah province in Syria, the Clarion Project reports of a picture taken that shows to the chapters of the Quran which have been chosen for the competition, and they are believed to include some of the most warlike passages in the entire Quran.

It also lists down the prizes to be won, that will be distributed on the first day of Eid, which include slave girls and money.

A translation by the Clarion Project's Arab Affairs Analyst Anwar Al-Iraqi of the notice is as below:
