Charlie Puth Almost Didn’t Get The Chance To Sing In The World’s Most Watched Youtube – See You Again!

As we all know, Wiz Khalifa and Charlie Puth’s 2015 hit See You Again has managed to dethrone Gangnam Style by Psy as the most-watched video on the video-sharing website, Youtube.

The emotional tribute video to Paul Walker featured lead vocals from Wiz Khalifa and Puth as its back vocals.

What we all didn’t know is song-writer Charlie Puth almost missed the big opportunity to sing on that sentimental hit song.

In his recent interview with Billboard, Puth revealed that he was originally not supposed to be the video. Not even singing! Apparently, the singer-songwriter was told that he was not cool and big enough for the franchise to take on the vocals in the song.

"I wasn't supposed to be on the song; I was only supposed to be a writer on the song. I was a brand new artist, I wasn't cool enough to be part of the franchise yet, I wasn't big enough." he said.

Thinking it’s a big opportunity to lose, Puth demands his spot on being in the video.

"I'll never forget I ended up calling [the executives] from around this big conference table on the phone, and they were explaining the reasons why it was going to be sung by this artist and blah, blah, blah, I'm not going to name any names.”

“but...I said, 'That's great. Your movie comes out in a week and I'm not gonna give you the song,'" Puth told Billboard.

"And I hung up the phone and when I said that miraculously I was in the music video." said Puth, proving he is one tough negotiator.

At the same time, we couldn’t help but to wonder who’s the other singer who has missed a great opportunity on being in the world’s most watched video on Youtube. Nevertheless, Charlie Puth proves that we should continue fighting for our rights. Especially, if that right involves working with Wiz Khalifa and the Fast and Furious franchise!
