Juveniles Plead Guilty to Trespassing, Beating Student

MARANG, 24 MAY, 2011: Eight students who pleaded guilty to trespassing into a religious school and beating a student there last April were today bound over on a two-year good behavior bond of RM1,500 each.

 

Magistrate Nur Azizah Yusoff presided over the closed-door proceedings, while prosecuting officer Inspector Mahathir Mohd Yusof prosecuted.

 


The students, aged between 15 and 17, from a school here were also imposed an additional condition whereby they were required to attend workshops organized by the Social Welfare Department with their guardians during the two year period.

They were charged under Section 447 of the Penal Code, read together with Section 34 of the same law, with trespassing into Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Agama (SMKA) here between 11am and 11.30am last April 7.

The students also pleaded guilty to a charge with intentionally causing hurt on a 17-year-old victim at the same place and time.
