Guns N’ Roses To Rock Sepang F1 Concert

Filepic - Axl RoseFilepic - Axl RoseKUALA LUMPUR: True blue rock fans, dust off those bandanas and faux leather jackets, because Guns N’ Roses is coming to town!

The iconic US band, which defined rock music in the late 1980s and early 1990s, is set to headline this year’s concert lineup at the Petronas Malaysian Grand Prix at the Sepang International Circuit (SIC) on March 24.

Known for hits such as Sweet Child of Mine, Welcome to The Jungle, Paradise City, November Rain and Don’t Cry, among others, the band still features its fiery lead singer Axl Rose, although minus its classic lineup of Slash, Izzy Stradlin, Duff McKagan and Steven Adler.

The band, famous for its wild excesses as well as its music, was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in April last year. Rose made headlines when he refused to join his ex-bandmates for the ceremony.

The new Guns N Roses lineup comprises Rose, Dj Ashba, Tommy Stinson, Dizzy Reed, Ron ‘Bumblefoot’ Thal, Chris Pitman, Richard Fortus and Frank Ferrer.

This will mark the first time that the band is coming to Malaysia. The band had last year toured Asia, and performed in India and Indonesia, among others.

Meanwhile, other acts set to perform in conjunction with the grand prix include singer Demi Lovato, and Korean pop acts U-Kiss and Rainbow.

They will perform at the Twin Towers Live @2013 concert, a two-day event which will take place on March 22 and 23 at the Petronas Twin Towers.

Disney actress Lovato is no stranger to teenagers everywhere, and has since come into her own as a singer-songwriter, with her hit ‘Skyscraper’.

K-pop fans, meanwhile, will doubtless be thrilled with U-Kiss, who are known for their hits such as seperti Man Man Ha Ni, 0330, Neverland, "Bingeul Bingeul" and Stop Girl.

Korean all-girl group Rainbow, who shot to fame with their hit Gossip Girl, is also set to thrill their fans with their trademark energetic performance.
