KUALA LUMPUR 29 JAN 2010: An additional allocation of RM100 million was given to Persatuan Madrasah Tahfiz Al-Quran Malaysia (PERMATA) to further roll out the programme throughout the country.
The allocation was announced today by Datin Paduka Seri Rosmah Mansor at the official opening of the Asia Pacific Early Childhood Education Graduates International Conference 2010 with the theme “Developing Human Capital Begins with Children” at Universiti Malaya today.
In her speech she said children are the generation that will build achievements and continue the journey forward for the human race. Thus the process of cultivating the right values and skill-sets for the development of a wholesome individual must begin from infancy.
“I am very committed in ensuring that our children are given the right education and care as early as possible in their lives,” said Rosmah.
“I have often said that every child is precious and is born with limitless potential. The challenge before us is to ensure that our efforts to provide adequate education and care for children are all inclusive and that no child should be left out or deprived,” she added.
She said the allocation that was provided by government will be used to build new PERMATA centre and the focus will be the rural area.
“Our main target is to set up the PERMATA centre in the rural area. Besides that, this program also will be implemented at the government office. I believe that this program could help increasing the productivity of parents as they do not have to worry about their child as they can visit the child anytime,” she added.
Meanwhile, the early childhood programme offered at the Faculty of Education has been a successful one in training good quality educators for the young ones.
