Tian Chua Surprised to be Consoled by Accident Victim's Family PDF Print

KOTA TINGGI, 13 MARCH, 2010: PKR strategic director Tian Chua, who was involved in a road accident which resulted in the death of a motorcyclist yesterday, said he was surprised by how understanding the family of the victim was towards him when they met at the hospital.

The Batu Member of Parliament (MP) said that the family members of the deceased, Mohd Salleh Hamdan, 23, consoled him instead of him consoling them.

In the 9pm incident on Friday, Tian Chua was on his way for a talk in Mersing after attending a PKR gathering in Kota Tinggi.

It is believed the driver of the Mercedes Benz had lost control along KM49 of the Johor Baru-Mersing road and crashed with a motorcycle coming from the opposite direction.

The motorcyclist, a soldier from the Mersing Army Camp, died at the Kota Tinggi Hospital two hours after the incident.

Tian Chua, his driver and another passenger were unhurt during the incident.

The driver of the car, who is also a PKR leader, had been detained for further investigations.

Tian Chua offered his condolences and said that PKR had already started a donation collection for the victim‘s family.

Private Mohd Salleh and his fiance had planned to get married in June.
