Johor Police Chief Datuk Mohd Maokhtar Mohd Shariff said investigations were going on and a photo fit of the suspect would be released after viewing the CCTV.

"Police in Muar, Ledang and Batu Pahat have launched a man hunt for the man while police are investigating the incident from all angles," he told reporters at the Johor police headquarters here today.

Mohd Mokhtar who did not reveal where and how the CCTV was obtained said Johor CID Chief Datuk Amer Awal would also hold meetings with Village Development and Safety Committees (JKKK) in Muar to assist in the investigation.

"This is an isolated case but our (police) advise is to increase security at their respective premises," he said.

During the 10am incident on Wednesday, a man wearing a helmet, spectacle and a black outfit, believed to be insane, gate-crashed Tadika Sinario in Lorong Haji Ali, Jalan Abdul Rahman in Muar and threatened about 20 children before attacking kindergarten operator Voon Siew Kion, 45, and three children, with a hammer.

The three children who suffered head injuries were admitted to the children's ward of Sultanah Aminah Hospital (HSA) here yesterday after being transferred from the Sultanah Fatimah Specialist Hospital in Muar where they were initially admitted on Wednesday.
