Sarawak DAP chief to soldier on PDF Print

Sibu, Fri. - Sarawak Dap chairman Wong Ho Leng will soldier on with his political belief and struggle despite having explosive fireworks thrown into his house compound on Sept 27 and Oct 15.
"I have been in politics for the past 23 years. I am not the type to buckle under pressure.     In politics we all know that opposition politicians and their aides go through a lot of pressure," Wong told a news conference here today.

He said DAP leaders like Lim Kit Siang and Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng and friends in Parti Keadilan Rakyat(PKR) and Umno had called him to express their support as well as concern.

On a separate matter, he said Kota Sentosa state assemblyman Chong Chieng Ren would not be attending the state legislative assembly privileges committee's hearing on Monday as he had to attend the parliamentary sitting in Kuala Lumpur beginning the same day.

"The budget is going to be discussed on at this sitting. This is a far more important agenda for Chong as Bandar Kuching member of parliament. It is also very important for the people as it is going to affect them in the coming year," he said.

Chong and PKR state assemblyman for Padungan Dominique Ng Kim Ho have both been referred to the committee over their remarks in the last sitting which were deemed improper by the government beackbenchers.
