Ex-Night Club Staff Jailed for Impersonation |

SHAH ALAM: A former night club employee was sentenced to five years' jail by the Sessions Court here today for counts of impersonation and using forged documents 17 years ago. Judge Mohammed Mokhzani Mokhtar handed down the sentence after finding Chin Sang, 59, guilty. He sentenced Chin to five years' jail on each count to be served concurrently from today.However, the judge allowed a stay of the sentence after a request from the defence to appeal to the High Court, and retained Chin's bail at RM22,000 for all charges. On the first two charges, Chin was charged with impersonating a Choo Kwong Chong, by using a forged identity card, to deceive Chui Wing Hoe, 41, which resulted in Chui to loan him RM72,000 and RM100,000, respectively, for which two cheques were issued. The offences were committed at the premises of Titan Leasing Sdn Bhd, No 30-3, 2nd Floor, Jalan 14/22, Petaling Jaya near here between 9am and 5pm on July 4 and 18, 1995. Chin was also charged with two counts of using forged documents, comprising 31 Sime Darby Bhd share certificates and 18 Multi Purpose Holding Bhd share certificates at the same place and on the same dates.
