PETALING JAYA: A specialist court dedicated for the construction industry is in the works according to the Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB).
CIDB chief executive Datuk Seri Dr Judin Abd Karim said that the board was setting up a Construction Court as a response to demands for a dedicated channel to resolve disputes in the industry.
"We worked with the Bar Council and industry leaders to initiate discussions on the setting up of a specialised court which will focus on resolving complex and technical construction sector disputes," Dr Judin said in a media release.
The board said justice in the construction sector would be best served by construction arbitration, statutory adjudication and the specialist construction court.
