KUALA LUMPUR: A backbencher today ticked off Zuraida Kamaruddin (PKR-Ampang) for twisting facts on the mammogram initiative introduced in the 2013 Budget.
Datuk Halimah Mohd Sadique (BN-Tenggara) when debating the Supply Bill 2013 in the Dewan Rakyat lambasted the Wanita PKR chief for claiming that the mammogram facility provided in the budget was meant only for 1,000 women when in fact it was for 100,000 women.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak when tabling the 2013 Budget in Parliament on Sept 28 had announced a RM25 million allocation to enable 100,000 Malaysian women above the age of 40 undergo mammogram screening for breast cancer prevention.
The Dewan sits again Wednesday.
