The couple and the third suspect at the police station after their arrest. Pix: The Borneo PostSIBU: A couple was caught in an intimate act in bed while a third person was lying on the floor next to the bed as police stormed into a house in Nuri Road at noon yesterday to crush a theft ring.
In the successful surprise raid that shocked the couple, the police seized stolen properties and tools for committing crimes from the scene and arrested all of them.
The police were compassionate enough to cover the naked couple with blankets when they arrested them in bed.
They later let them put on their clothes before they took the three back to the police station to help solve a string of theft cases.
The police believe the three were drug addicts too.
They are now determining whether the three had taken drugs before the arrest and have handed them over to the Narcotics Department for urine tests.
When reporters took photographs of the three in the police station, the couple was fully clothed.
The woman stayed close to her ‘boyfriend’ while another man sat further away.
The police said they sprung into the noon action yesterday after they had trailed the three, and believed they had jumped on them at ‘the right time’.
Seized from them were electronic household items including TV sets, laptop computer, water pump, a DVD player, hifi sets and other things.
The police also seized a car and a van in their possession. They will determine whether these are stolen properties.
