KUCHING: A youth was stabbed three times after coming between two fighting groups at a night spot in Jalan Padungan early yesterday.
The 23-year-old from Serian told reporters the incident happened around 2am when he and a group of friends stepped inside a pub to see several persons fighting.
He said they immediately turned to leave as they did not want to get involved, but an unknown person stabbed him twice in the back and once on the left side of his chest.
Fearing further attacks, the youth and his friends fled to a nearby shoplot and called for an ambulance to take him to Sarawak General Hospital.
Elsewhere, a 40-year-old motorcyclist sustained a fractured collarbone and cuts to his head following a road accident at Jalan Matang at midnight yesterday.
He was heading back to his house after an outing with his family in Satok when his motorcycle collided with a Perodua Viva at Mile 6 Matang, and he was thrown from his machine, landing on the road.
His family travelling in a car behind him called for an ambulance to send him to the hospital.
