JITRA: Action by a group of Kubang Pasu District Council members calling for the resignation of Kedah State Secretary Datuk Rasli Basir for tranferring the council president shows disrespect to the Sultan of Kedah.

Kedah Youth Council president Ku Iskandar Ku Saad said since the state secretary was appointed with consent of the Sultan, calling for his resignation shows disrespect.

"The PAS group led by Kubang Pasu district council member Basir Ismail has no right to demand the resignation of Datuk Rasli whom they claimed to be a stooge of Umno.

"It could be because of personal interest or for self-satisfaction but it was irresponsible" he told Bernama here last night.

The issue arose after Rasli tranferred several district council presidents including Ahmad Fisol Mohd Nor, who is also Kubang Pasu District Officer to Kuala Muda without approval of Kedah State Executive Council (Exco).
