KUANTAN: Another member of the 'KK Merah' gang, believed to be the last, wanted by the police for robbery and murder was detained yesterday.

Acting Temerloh police chief Supt Zundin Mahmood said the 28-year-old suspect was detained at his house in Kampung Tebing Tinggi, Temerloh, about 6.15pm.

"The last member of the gang was detained after his family members contacted the police when he returned home to see his wife," he said when contacted by Bernama here today.

Yesterday, a 22-year-old member of the gang, accompanied by family members, surrendered himself to the police.

Another member of the gang, aged 16, who was involved in eight robberies, was caught in Jalan Kampung Lantin, Chenur at 1.30am on Oct 7, while riding a motorcycle.

On Oct 14, police shot dead a member of the gang, believed to be active in robbery and murder, in several districts in Pahang over the last three months.

The dead member of the gang, 21, believed to have been involved in seven robberies and a murder, was killed in an exchange of fire with police at an oil palm plantation in Sanggang.

Police believe the gang of four was involved in a murder at Kampung Baru, Simpang Songsang, on Sept 14, involving a trader, Abdul Talib Yadin, 56, who was stabbed after being robbed while returning home at 2.30am.
