Senior Citizen Shot Dead In Taman Desa

police_chalkKUALA LUMPUR: A senior citizen was shot by an unknown assailant in front of his house in Jalan Desa Permai, Taman Desa at 9.10am here today.

 

Brickfields Police Chief ACP Wan Abd Bari Wan Abd Khalid said during the incident Fong Yen Chong, 72, was shot when he had just entered a Perodua Myvi car with his wife and maid, when a masked man alighted from a Proton Waja car and shot him.

"The suspect fired five shots and one of the shots hit the victim below his right ear while his wife suffered minor injuries caused by the car's broken windscreen.

"The shots also hit the front and right side of the victim's windscreen," he told reporters when met at the scene.

The victim, a retiree from an insurance company, died at the spot.

Wan Abd Bari said the suspect is believed to have waited for the victim to come out of the house.

The victim's body was later sent to the Kuala Lumpur Hospital for post-mortem.
