Two Fined RM100 Each for Letting Off Fireworks During Malaysia Cup Finals

SHAH ALAM: Two men were fined RM100 each, in default six months' jail, by the Magistrate's Court here today for letting off fireworks during the Malaysia Cup finals between Kelantan and the Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM) at the Shah Alam Stadium here last Oct 20.

Magistrate Mohamed Ruhizat Abdullah handed down the fine on Nurazaha Muhammad Nur, 39, from Kampung Melayu Subang, Petaling Jaya, and Ahmad Shahir Daud, 19, from Kampung Pantai Sabak, Kota Bharu, after they pleaded guilty to the charge.

Nurazaha, a restaurant assistant, was charged with letting off the fireworks, a hand flare, at 11.45pm at Quadrant D of the stadium, while Ahmad Shahir, was charged with doing the same at Quadrant C of the stadium at 11.35pm. They were charged under Section 3 (5) of the Minor Offences Act 1955 which provides a fine not exceeding RM100 or to imprisonment for up to one month or both, upon conviction.

Deputy public prosecutor Farah Wahida Mohd Nor prosecuted, while Nurazaha and Ahmad Shahir were unrepresented.
