KUALA LUMPUR: The Selangor Government has issued a temporary stop-work order on the proposed 29-storey condominium project near the Batu Caves temple, Mentri Besar Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim said today.
He said an independent action committee would be set up by the state assembly tomorrow, to help resolve the issue.
"Members of the committee will consist of professionals such as lawyers, former judges and town planners," he told a news conference at the Parliament lobby here.
However, he said the committee would not involve parties with interest, including the Batu Caves temple management.
Last week, about 300 people had gathered in front of the Sri Subramaniar Swamy temple to protest against the project.
On the issue of affordable housing in Selangor highlighted by Deputy Finance Minister Datuk Donald Lim Siang Chai recently, Khalid said a detailed report on the project would be announced soon.
