KUALA LUMPUR: MIC Youth members held prayers at Hindu temples nationwide for policemen slain in the line of duty in Sabah.
They also prayed for the safety of Sabahans, the soldiers serving in the state and for them to safely return home.
While a group gathered at the Athieeswaran temple in Sentul here, other MIC Youth members gathered in other states to conduct simultaneous prayers.
The 15 MIC Youth members here were seen lighting oil lamps and praying to Lord Siva.
They were joined by Gerakan Youth secretary-general Associate Professor Dr Dominic Lau Hoe Chai.
Batu MIC division chairman C. Ramanathan said the party wanted the turmoil in Sabah to be resolved quickly.
“MIC Youth will also be organising some fund-raising activities to contribute to the families of the slain policemen in recognition of their sacrifice for the country,” he said.
