KUALA LUMPUR, 8 FEBRUARY, 2012: The Armed Forces Fund Board (LTAT) declared a 15 percent dividend and bonus for the year ended 2011 compared with 14 percent in 2010.
Defence Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said the dividend and bonus comprised seven percent dividend, one percent bonus and seven percent special bonus in the form of unit trust to eligible members.
In a statement, LTAT said the dividend and bonus payment declared amounted to RM680.4 million, an increase of 10.4 percent, when compared with the RM616.3 million payout in 2010.
"Overall, for the year in review, LTAT's unaudited accounts showed a total profit of RM862.7 million which was not only the highest recorded since the fund's establishment 39 years ago, but was also 14.8 percent higher than the RM751.5 million in 2010," he said in a statement here today.
He said the achievement showed LTAT's efficient financial management against a backdrop of uncertain economic crisis in Europe and United States.
Ahmad Zahid said as of Dec 31, 2011, LTAT's assets rose by 5.3 percent to RM8 billion compared with RM7.6 billion the previous year while members' contribution account rose to RM7.1 billion compared with RM6.7 billion in 2010.
