JOHOR BAHARU, 22 APRIL, 2012: A man who was supposed to be getting married today was killed in front of a shophouse in Jalan Dedap 23, Taman Johor Jaya, here yesterday.

Indra Asrul, 29, died on the spot after being stabbed four times in the stomach when he was attacked by three Myanmar individuals including a woman.

His fiancee, who witnessed the incident at 10.40pm, said she and the victim were going to a shophouse on a motorcycle to collect some items as they were shifting to another place.

"We rented the shophouse with several Myanmar nationals but we wanted to move after one of them entered the bathroom while I was bathing," said the fiancee who wished only to be known as Sharina, 26.

As a result of the incident, an argument broke out between the victim and the Myanmar man resulting in the couple deciding to move to another house a few days ago.

Sharina, who was met at the Sultanah Aminah Hospital mortuary here today, said she and her fiance were about to walk up the stairs at the two-storey shophouse when the victim was set upon by three suspects.

One of the men later stabbed the victim in the stomach several times using a piece of metal before fleeing.

"I managed to hold my seriously injured fiance before he died about 15 minutes later," said Sharina.

Sharina and Indra, who were working as operators in a factory in Taman Desa Cemerlang, here, knew each other for more than a year and planned to get married
today.

Seri Alam police chief Supt Roslan Zainuddin confirmed the incident and did not rule out misunderstanding as a cause of the incident.
