Najib Attends Chinese New Year Open House

KUALA LUMPUR, 23 JANUARY, 2012: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak today attended the Chinese New Year open house organized by Barisan Nasional (BN) component parties, MCA and Gerakan, here.


Najib, accompanied by his wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, attended the MCA open house at the party's headquarters in Jalan Ampang.

He was greeted on arrival at 9.50am by MCA president Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek, amid the beating of the drums and dragon and lion dance performances.

Present were Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin and wife Puan Sri Norainee Abdul Rahman as well as former prime ministers Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi.

Cabinet ministers and other BN leaders including Gerakan president Tan Sri Dr Koh Tsu Koon, MIC president Datuk G Palanivel and PPP president Datuk Seri M Kayveas were also at the open house.

Najib and wife later attended the Gerakan open house at Menara PGRM in Cheras.

The prime minister is scheduled to attend the Penang BN Chinese New Year open house at Tanjong City Marina in George Town, and the 1Malaysia Open House in Sitiawan, Perak.
