Senior Citizen Charred to Death in Fire

BELURAN, 23 JANUARY, 2012: A senior citizen was charred to death in a fire which razed his house at Kampung Cinabutan, Jalan Sapi Nangoh here, last night.

Sandakan Fire and Rescue zone chief Alias Abu said the victim was known as Domine bin Tuati, aged 75 years old.  

According to a report they received, he said the victim's daughter and grandchild were not home at the time of the incident. 

A fire engine with four personnel rushed to the site after the distress call at 11:38pm but due to the location's distance, they only reached there at 2:45pm and by then the house was completely razed, he explained.

The victim's charred remains were found under the burnt frame of the house and the cause of fire has yet to be determined.
