KUALA LUMPUR, 1 FEBRUARY, 2012: Datuk Ibrahim Ali said he was not surprised by the statement Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim made during an interview with The Wall Street Journal recently in which the Opposition leader expressed full support for actions taken in protecting Israel's security.
The Pertubuhan Pribumi Perkasa (Perkasa) President Ibrahim said since the day Anwar was sacked as Deputy Prime Minister in 1997, the Opposition leader is willing to do anything to ensure that he is back in power.
“I’m not surprised at all with his (Anwar) statement. He is a person that is willing to do anything for power,” Ibrahim said yesterday when contacted by Malaysian Digest.
He said Anwar may think that by supporting Israel he will receive financial assistance to help Pakatan Rakyat win the General Election.
“The statement that he made is in line with the United States’ policy. The world is aware that the US is dominated by Jewish rich Zionist lobbyists who have been sponsoring US presidential candidates,” he said.
“Maybe, I repeat, maybe, with the statement, it is possible that Anwar will be helped financially by the lobbyists when GE13 comes,” he said.
The Pasir Mas MP said it is possible that the superpower nation wants a candidate for the Malaysian Prime Minister who is pro-US like Singapore.
“People should be aware of the global political games by the superpowers. We should be careful before it is too late,” he said.
