KUALA LUMPUR, 31 JANUARY, 2012: Kota Belud member of parliament Datuk Abdul Rahman Dahlan said Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim's recent statement in which he expressed full support in protecting the security of Israel published on the Wall Street Journal shows a glimpse of Pakatan Rakyat's dicey policy.

rahman_dahlan2Rahman said the Opposition leader’s statement also shows where he intends to take Malaysia should Pakatan takes over as government and Anwar becomes the prime minister.

He added that Pakatan should have revealed its shadow cabinet long time ago so that people would be clear about its policy, however, the opposition coalition has failed to do so.

He also said it is unbecoming of Anwar to blatantly make that statement of supporting the effort to protect the state of Israel state without considering about what's happening to the Palestinians.

When asked whether Anwar has any links with Jewish figures or that PKR could be funded by any Jewish organizations, Rahman said he does not have proof to verify that.

However, he said running a party such as PKR is not an easy task.

"For example, during the election in Permatang Pauh, one can see that the BN machinery was outnumbered by PKR's machinery in terms of manpower, flags, banners and posters.

"(It makes) One wonder where the money (to fund the campaign) comes from," Rahman said when contacted by Malaysian Digest yesterday.

Rahman also said that the statement Anwar made on The Wall Street Journal is something that he (Anwar) has to explain so that people would be clear on the direction that he intends to take the country should he become the prime minister.

In a recent interview with The Wall Street Journal, Anwar responded to the question of whether he would open diplomatic ties with Israel by stating his “support” for “efforts to protect the security of the state of Israel”, while at the same time backing the legitimate rights of the Palestinians.

Then on Saturday, Anwar clarified his statement stating that he supported a two-state solution with Palestine which is a stance similar to that uphold by Malaysia and the United Nations.
