PUTRAJAYA, 1 FEBRUARY, 2012: Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Ismail Omar headed a list of 279 recipients of awards, medals and honors in conjunction with the Federal Territories Day.
He was conferred the Darjah Seri Utama Mahkota Wilayah (SUMW) which carries the title Datuk Seri Utama.
Also receiving the same award was Council of Former Elected Representatives (Mubarak) president Tan Sri Abu Hassan Omar.
Recipients of the Darjah Seri Mahkota Wilayah (SMW), which carries the title Datuk Seri, were MIC president Datuk Seri G Palanivel, Housing and Local Government Ministry Secretary-General Datuk Seri Ahmad Kabit and KUB Malaysia Berhad chairman Datuk Seri Abdul Halim Abdul Samad.
The same award was given to MCA Public Service and Complaints Department chief Datuk Seri Michael Chong Ten Soo and Malaysian Association for the Blind deputy president Datuk Seri Mohamed Iqbal Kuppapitchai Rawther.
Meanwhile, 34 recipients awarded the Panglima Mahkota Wilayah (PMW) which carries the title Datuk were Deputy Director-General of Education (Policy and Education Development) Datuk Dr Khair Mohamad Yusof, Deputy Director-General of Health (Public Health) Datuk Dr Lokman Hakim Sulaiman and Natural Resources and Environment Ministry Deputy Secretary-General Datuk Dr Che Abdul Rahim Nik.
Also conferred the PMW were Social Security Organisation Chief Executive Datuk Selvarajah a/l K Kathiravelu, Judicial Appointment Commission Secretary Datuk Hamidah Khalid, Media Prima Berhad group managing editor (TV and Radio Networks) Datuk Shaharudin Abd and Tan Sri Muhyiddin Charity Golf Foundation general manager Datuk Suleiman Ibrahim.
Bank Negara Deputy Governor Datuk Nor Shamsiah Mohd Yunus, Prime Minister's Department SMPKE Division Director Datuk Mohd Samsuri Mohd Sohot, Kuala Lumpur City Hall Deputy Director-General (Planning) Datuk Zulkifli Ibrahim, JPM's Felda Regulatory Unit chief Datuk Dr Omar Salim, Army ADC for the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Brig Jen Datuk Mohd Nizam Jaffar and Police ADC for the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Senior Assistant Commissioner Datuk Mastor Mohd Ariff.
The title Datuk was also given to Federal Territories Land and Mines Department director Datuk Hasim Ismail, Kumpulan Karangkraf editor-in-chief Datuk Abd Jalil Ali, Putrade Property Management Sdn Bhd chief executive Datuk Abdullah Hamid Jaafar, Hong Leong Bank Berhad chief executive officer (CEO) Datuk Yvonne Chia and Prince Court Medical Centre surgeon Datuk Dr Yunus Gul Alif Gul.

Malaysian Indian Muslim Congress (Kimma) treasurer Datuk Abdul Wahith Sharfuddin, former national track queen Datuk Chin Leng Sim @ Marina Chin, Unified Services Association president Datuk Zakaria Salleh, Bangsar Baru Residents Association president Datuk George Joseph and Penang State Development Officer, Implementation Coordination Unit of the Prime Minister's Department Datuk Nik Ali Mat Yunus.
Meanwhile, 30 were awarded the Johan Mahkota Wilayah (JMW), 50 received the Kesatria Mahkota Wilayah (KMW), 74 the Ahli Mahkota Wilayah (AMW) and 84 received the Pangkuan Mahkota Wilayah (PPW) medals.
Among the KMW recipients were Sistem Televisyen Malaysia Berhad (TV3) Deputy News Editor Hazran Mohamed while Bernama reporter Jailani Hassan received the AMW.
