KUALA LIPIS, 6 FEBRUARY, 2012: The support for the transformation agenda of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak is growing strong, Umno information chief Datuk Ahmad Maslan said.

He said the numerous people-oriented programs such as the 1Malaysia People's Aid, 1Malaysia People's Shop, People's Menu, assistance for school students, to name a few, augured well for the effort to improve the lot of the people.

He added that the people had been responding well to the move by the government to provide these assistance.

Ahmad reminded party members, however, to be watchful of attempts by opposition parties to undermine the government's transformation programs.

"They are becoming desperate because people are supportive of these programs," he told reporters after an information road show for the Cameron Highlands parliamentary constituency, here last night.

The event, the sixth in a series, was aimed at providing information on various issues and to counter the attacks by the opposition.

Ahmad said it was important for Umno and Barisan Nasional to get down to the grassroots and solve the people's problems.

"The opposition will continue to find new issues to confuse the people and Umno should go to the field and counter these lies," he said.
