TANAH MERAH, 7 FEBRUARY, 2012: The Kelantan Umno Liaison Body will come out with pamphlets detailing all the financial assistance given by the federal government to Kelantan in an effort to counter the opposition's allegation that Umno has been cruel to the people of the state.
Its chairman Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed said the pamphlets would be distributed in two weeks' time, enabling the people to get accurate information on the matter.
"Deputy Finance Minister Datuk Dr Awang Adek Hussin and I have been planning this for some time. We want to give a true picture of the financial assistance given by the federal government to Kelantan."
He said this after handing out RM192,000 in aid under the Oil Palm Replanting Incentive Scheme to 34 settlers of Kemahang 2 Felda scheme, here, today.
Mustapa who is also International Trade and Industry Minister, cited the clean water supply issue where the federal government assisted to resolve it by giving the Kelantan government an interest-free loan of RM600 million and RM213 million to upgrade the water treatment plants in the state.
Besides distributing pamphlets, he said Kelantan Umno would also hold more sessions to provide accurate information and explain to the people, issues that had been twisted by the opposition.
Mustapa also reminded Felda settlers to be wary of the opposition's propaganda in gaining their support by discrediting the federal government.
