PETALING JAYA, 8 FEBRUARY, 2012: Subang MP Sivarasa Rasiah said he is still waiting for the Malaysian Anti Corruption Commission (MACC) action on his and PKR Woman Chief Zuraida Kamaruddin’s revelation on the police report done by businessman Datuk Shamsulbahrin Ismail against the National Feedlot Corporation (NFC) Datuk Seri Mohamed Salleh Ismail.

..Sivarasa said if MACC is serious in retaining its credibility, it must act speedily.

“We are still waiting for MACC’s action on the expose that we did on the police report done by Shamsulbahrin where he specifically said he was instructed by Salleh to bribe the police to close the NFC case,” said Sivarasa.

“He (Shamsulbahrin) said that he has evidence of this in the form of SMS from Salleh. We also believe that there are other SMS from another NFC official confirming this instruction,” he added.

Sivarasa said, if what was said by Shamsulbahrin is true, that is a serious allegation and MACC should not delay the investigation.

“If that is true, that is a serious allegation. Shamsulbahrin is prepared to put it in police report. But what we are stressing here today, we are still waiting to see action on the report.

“When Salleh make an allegation on Shamsulbahrin, MACC and the police immediately take action by arresting him, lock him up continuously for a month and charge him. But here, a police report has been lodged, with clear evidence, no action taken by the MACC,” said Sivarasa.

Last month Shamsulbahrin had filed a police report claiming Salleh had directed him to bribe the police to close the case on the NFC scandal.

He claimed that he was paid a total of RM2.2 million which was recorded as "payment for corporate communications and media consultant" in the accounting records of the NFC before agreed to set Salleh’s meeting with police top officials at Bukit Aman and MACC officers regarding the investigation on NFC.

Sensing that there is a persecution against him and his family, Shamsulbahrin was determined to expose and produce the evidence he got during his deal with Salleh and NFC.
