JOHOR BAHARU, 28 FEBRUARY, 2012: Inter-denominational Christian magazine from Kuala Lumpur, Asian Beacon, has issued a statement of apology to Iban community in its Facebook account at about 9:30pm today for the "Of Skulls And Sago Worms" article.

The magazine deeply regretted the incident and sincerely apologized to the Ibans and sought their forgiveness.

"We are deeply grieved that it has caused ill feelings among the Iban community and again, we wish to convey our unreserved apologies to them," the statement said.

The article published in the magazine's February-March 2012 bimonthly issue had offended the Iban community as it allegedly touched on the eating habits of the Ibans and their morality.
