AN actress who won a lawsuit against a movie producer-director received her settlement claims in 5 sen form amounting to RM11,200 at her lawyer's office recently.
Rabecca Nur Al-Islam, 23, said Erma Fatima's lawyer, who came with a few assistants, handed over the packages of money at Nordin Othman's office, including a box containing a Quran.
"What did she mean by doing that? Is she dissatisfied with her defeat in court? And why did she send me the Quran as if trying to mock me," she said to mStar Online.
Rabecca also added that if Erma is trying to make her angry then that is unlikely to happen.
Instead, she will return the money to Erma and ask the producer-director to pay in a more dignified manner.
On November 8, the Kuala Lumpur Magistrate's Court ordered Erma to pay the actress' remaining fees of RM11,200 (40 percent plus five percent interest) from her payment in addition to legal costs.
Both were embroiled in a dispute when Erma, who directed 'Dejavu Di Kinabalu' drama failed to settle the actress' remaining fees by 40 percent which led to the lawsuit on July 23 this year.
The 28 episodes drama was produced by Rumah Karya Citra (M) Sdn Bhd and shown on TV3's Akasia slot from June 18 to July 31 last year.
