MALACCA: The nine siblings of a 17-year-old teenager who was allegedly beaten to death by his father on Saturday will receive their identification documents soon.
Home Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said he had asked National Registration Department (NRD) director-general Datuk Sulaiman Keling to get his department to prepare birth certificates and MyKad for the siblings, aged 4 to 16.
“Our immediate response was to address the issue after the media reported their plight,” he said before breaking fast with staff at the Home Ministry Complex here yesterday.
Zahid presented contributions from NRD to the victim’s 38-year-old mother.
It was reported that the nine siblings had never attended school because of their family’s nomadic lifestyle.
