Australian PM, Tony Abbott To Be In KL On Sept 6

Pic: www.voanews.comPic: www.voanews.comKUALA LUMPUR: Australian Prime Minister will be undertaking an official visit to Malaysia tomorrow.  This marks Abbott's maiden visit to Malaysia since his appointment as the Prime Minister on 18 September 2013.

During the visit, Abbott will hold a bilateral meeting with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Najib Tun Razak to take stock of the progress of the ongoing bilateral cooperation between Malaysia and Australia.

High on the agenda is discussions on the status of the two countries’ cooperation in relation to Malaysia Airlines (MAS) Flight MH370 and Flight MH17 incidents.

Both leaders will also exchange views on regional and international issues of common concern to the countries.

PM Abbott along with Najib will also meet with the Malaysian personnel who were involved in the MH370 and MH17 operations, respectively, to express appreciation for the work that they have done.

Since the establishment of diplomatic relations between Malaysia and Australia in 1957, both countries enjoy excellent and vibrant relations, buoyed by substantive cooperation notably in the areas of trade and investment, education, defence, security and people-to-people links.

This visit will undoubtedly further cement the close and outstanding relations between the two countries.
