TALENTED child actress, Puteri Balqis Azizi, added another big achievement to her list of growing accolades when she was crowned 'Best Actress In A Leading Role' at the 2014 Asian Television Awards last night in Singapore.

The glittering star-studded event held at the Marina Bay Sands, Singapore was jointly hosted by Malaysian standup comedian Harith Iskander, along with George Young, Sazzy Falak and Stephanie Carrington.

The tiny acting dynamo had earned the award for her ground-breaking role in the TV3 telemovie, Balqis, which is directed by former actress turned director, Erma Fatima.Puteri Balqis with her proud parents Pic: Balqis with her proud parents Pic:

7-year old Balqis emerged victorious last night, competing against big names, like Hollywood actress Joan Chen (Singapore) as well as established names in the Asian acting scene Tien Hsin (Taiwan), Kristal Tin (Hong Kong), Ruin En (Singapore) and Ko Shun Chin (Taiwan).

This is Balqis's second big win coming closely on the heels of her record-breaking achievement in the recent Anugerah Skrin 2014 (ASK) held at PWTC, Kuala Lumpur in November, where she won the Best Drama Actress award and triggered a media storm over her tremendous achievement after a relatively short acting career.

This year's Asian Television Awards saw 1,371 entries from 14 countries in Asia-Pacific. A total of 199 channels from 119 broadcasters, as well as 64 independent production companies, competed in 38 award categories to award the best of regional television.
