He said PAS will launch a fund raising campaign among its party members to help fund the balance required for the party to take the fight in courts, adding that it may go up to millions.

“We will launch a fundraiser among PAS members to seek donation to help fund the case.

“So far, we have submitted £13,000. To take legal actions it takes a lot of time,” he said.

Speaking to reporters at the Dewan Rakyat lobby today, Idris was commenting on the latest update and progress of the lawsuit.

Previously, PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang has announced on the party mulling a defamation suit against SR due to its allegations of PAS leadership receiving RM90 million from Prime Minister Najib Razak.

According to the report, this is a part of Barisan Nasional’s attempt to woo support from the Islamic party.

Its secretary-general Takiyuddin Hassan has submitted a letter of demand, dated December 13, urging SR to withdraw their article, publish a public apology as well as avoid from publishing such false accusations in the future.

The seven-day time limit given has since passed but PAS have yet to take any action against SR.
