REMBAU -- Aid to 200 residents of two villages affected by flash floods will be handed over to them tomorrow.
Rembau MP Khairy Jamaluddin said Kampung Batu and Kampung Pulau were inundated in 0.62 metres of water.
"My office and the Social Welfare Department will give them the necessary aid," he told reporters after visiting victims of the flood in Kampung Batu here today.
Khairy, who is also youth and sports minister, said the floods were due to torrental rain since last night, causing Sungai Rembau to overflow its banks.
Asked if there was a proposal to build a flood mitigation bund in Kampung Batu, which was flooded for the first time, he said a decision would be made after the state drainage and irrigation department and other agencies concluded their investigations.
No flood relief centre had been opened to date, he added.
