Pic: PDRMPic: PDRMSEPANG: Two traffic officers' noble act of helping a motorist turned ugly when they were injured in a crash at Jalan CTA 2, Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) here today.

In the 6.45am incident, both officers sustained injuries to their heads after they had stopped for a driver, whose car had broken down.

KLIA OCPD Asst Comm Zulkifli Adamsah, who confirmed the mishap, said the accident occurred on Jalan CTA 2, heading towards the KLIA airport, when the officers were inspecting a Suzuki Swift which was stalled.

"It is understood that a van had suddenly hit the Suzuki Swift from the back, forcing it to lurch forward and injuring the officers," he added.

He said the officers, Abd Mutalip Ismail, 40, and Suzaili Mohd Marzuki, 31, both lance corporals, were taken to the Putrajaya Hospital.

"The van driver has been arrested. The case will be investigated under Section 42 of the Road Transport Act 1987," he added.
