KUALA LUMPUR: Leaders LionsXII must be kicking themselves hard after being denied three points by conceding a late, late goal in their 1-1 draw with Pahang in a Super League match at Darul Makmur Stadium on Friday.
LionsXII looked set to collect three crucial points with a goal by skipper Shahril Ishak, who executed a superb freekick in the 10th minute.
But Azammuddin Akil stunned the visitors with the equalizer in the 90th minute to the jubilation of the home crowd.
LionsXII should have killed off the game if they had not missed at least of couple of chances in the first half.
The draw means LionsXII have now 35 points from 17 matches while second-placed Armed Forces have 33 points.
