Earlier today in Putrajaya Deputy Prime Minister, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin brushed aside calls for the setting up of a Royal Commission of Inquiry into the National Feedlot Corporation controversy.
He said the existing enforcement agencies such as the police, Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission and the accounting firm appointed to conduct an audit on the company is sufficient enough to handle the issue. To put it simply what the Deputy Prime Minister is trying to say is that there is no need for any kind of inquiry into the already controversial NFC issue.
Excuse me Mr Deputy Prime Minister, having said that are you trying to say that the Malaysian Government is condoning corruption? I really need to know what is he afraid of? Is it because the project was awarded during his time as Minister of Agriculture? People are demanding for the truth and yet you totally brushed off any idea of setting up an RCI over the NFC issue?
Again I must reiterate that the government needs to get serious when it comes to fighting corruption. The Malaysian public is demanding it, if not for the sake of justice at least do it for the coming General Election.
